We can all spot the difference between a romantic meal and one that leaves little to no room for amorous intentions.
For example, eating a bowl of cheesy chili with your partner while watching NCIS? Delicious, especially if it’s our signature chocolate-infused recipe, but not typically a sign of a passionate evening to come.
Conversely, if you come home for the evening and find your loved one lighting candles and laying out oysters on the half shell? Well, it’s time to bring on the hearts and flowers!
And there’s no better way to wrap up a romantic dinner for two than with a truly dazzling dessert finale.
Strawberries and cream are great, but if you’re really looking to wow ‘em, you’re going to want to take a close look at our recipe for a melting, sinful lava cake, topped with salted caramel.
It’s truly out of this world, and there’s no easier (or more delicious) way to show someone in your life an evening of passion and chocolate!
So print out the recipe below, and get baking for the most mouthwatering and extravagant dessert ever!
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup chocolate chips
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup caramel chips
sea salt, to garnish
In a saucepan, melt butter on stovetop.
Add chocolate chips, then stir on low heat until fully melted. Set aside.
In a mixing bowl, combine eggs, sugar, and vanilla. Whisk thoroughly.
Add chocolate mixture and flour to egg mixture. Mix well until smooth.
Pour batter into ramekins, bake 12 minutes at 425 °F.
Meanwhile, heat caramel chips until melted.
Place serving dish on top of ramekin, then flip upside down to plate.
Drizzle melted caramel on top, and top with a sprinkle of sea salt.
Serve warm and enjoy!
