Because puff pastry dough is so versatile, it can be used in an array of delightful recipes, both savory and sweet — like these cheesy bacon puff pastry twists.
In the video below, we share steps to making your own pears wrapped in puff pastry. Though it sounds and looks rather fancy, these pears are super easy to put together.
After dunking them together with aromatic spices, simply wrap the pears in store-bought puff pastry, and voilà — a delectable dessert to impress family and friends.

Ingredients
- 3 pears, cored and peeled
- 1 lemon, halved
- 4 cups water
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup honey
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 8 whole cloves
- 1 vanilla bean, split and scraped
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- Whipped cream and caramel, to serve
- Instructions
- After peeling and coring pears, rub skin with a lemon.
- In a stew pot, add water, sugar, honey, lemon, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and vanilla bean.
- Let pot come to a boil, then simmer on low heat.
- Add pears, and poach for 18 to 22 minutes.
- Reduce 1 1/2 cups strained poaching liquid.
- Cut thawed puff pastry into long, tin strips. Wrap each pear with puff pastry strips.
- Place on parchment-lined baking sheet, and bake in oven for 20 to 25 minutes at 400 °F.
- Serve with whipped cream and syrup. Enjoy!
